We had already reported that a prequel series of Stephen King’s It horror film, titled Welcome to Derry, is in the making. The series makers have now cast Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, James Remar, and Chris Chalk.
While not much about the plot is revealed or the characters they will be playing, the prequel series will be set within the It universe. Derry, Maine is the geographical premise where It takes place and is the home of the antagonist Pennywise the Clown. However, the series in all probabilities will not feature Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise and is expected to be set in a period before.
Welcome to Derry is attached to HBO with Jason Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane as the series show runners and executive producers. Andy Muschietti will be directing a few episodes of the series. Welcome to Derry is backed by HBO Max and Warner Bros Television.
