Paul Mescal and Melissa Barrera starrer Carmen‘s trailer was released online. Directed by Benjamin Millepied, the film is an adaptation of the iconic opera by Georges Bizet.
The new teaser also shows the two leads, Paul Mescal and Melissa Barrera, in their romantic and tragic attire. Paul Mescal stars as the romantic lead, Aidan and Melissa Barrera stars as the titular Carmen. The two perform several dance numbers in the brief teaser.
The film debuted in 2022 at the Toronto International Film Festival, with original music by the acclaimed composer Nicholas Britell. The film has Rossy de Palma in a prominent role.
Paul Mescal’s popular feature credits include Normal People, The Lost Daughter, God’s Creatures, and Aftersun. The latter project has earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Melissa Barrera is best known for her breakout role in Scream 5, and the upcoming sequel. She’s also appeared in In the Heights and the Netflix series, Keep Breathing.
