Earlier, consecutive hattricks by Pat Cummins helped Australia restrict Afghanistan to 148/6 in 20 overs in their T20 World Cup 2024, Super 8 match. Asked to bat first, Afghanistan got a brilliant start as their openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran stitched an 118-run partnership. Gurbaz scored 60 off 49 balls while Zadran smashed 51 off 48 balls. However, Australia bounced back in style and controlled the run flow.
