Occupation: Businessman

Height: 165 cms

Highest weight recorded: 92 kgs

Weight lost: 25 kgs

Duration it took me to lose weight: 11 months

The turning point:
Even though I was working out for the last four years, I wasn’t able to get the desired results. It was really heartbreaking and demotivating as I was no longer able to fit into the clothes of my choice and went breathless after running even 100 metres. One day someone from the gym said, “You cannot do it. It is not in your control.” That was the day I decided that I will do whatever it takes to lose weight and take control of my life once again.

My breakfast: Oats, poha and whole wheat bread

My lunch: Brown rice, quinoa and tofu salad

My dinner: Grilled chicken breast, eggs white and sauteed vegetables

Pre-workout meal: Banana with peanut butter, oats and a protein bar

Post-workout meal: Whey protein smoothie in low-fat yoghurt

I indulge in:
I used to eat chicken rice and brownie on my cheat days.

My workout: My workout routine is as follows:

I do weight training for 6 days and 30 minutes of cardio including cross-training, abs workout, core and sides workout on alternate days.

Low-calorie recipes I swear by:
I absolutely vouch on cauliflower rice with cottage cheese.

Fitness secrets I unveiled:
You must focus on both diet and training simultaneously to get better results.

How do I stay motivated? I have made it a mentality to win, no matter what happens in life. I have also made it a point to stay on the path of fitness as I do not want to go back to where I had begun.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus?
I never skip my workout or change my diet plans. If I do, I make up for it the next day. The fear of losing this physique, I have worked so hard to attain, keeps me focussed.

What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?
It was really heartbreaking when I could no longer fit into the clothes of my choice.

What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line? I want to open my gym and achieve a more enviable physique.
What are the lifestyle changes you made? I completely quit sweets and fast foods to achieve my weight loss goal.
What was the lowest point for you? I was really frustrated with the way I looked and the fact that I would become breathless after running even for 100 metres.
Lessons learnt from weight loss: The best part about losing weight and getting back in shape was the fact that it made me feel really confident. Additionally, receiving compliments from friends and families definitely made me happy and more motivated stay fit.
