Can anyone believe that Shri Syed Gulab an automobile spray painter by profession is a savior to many who live on the pavements outside NIMHANS and nearby hospitals in Bangalore?.
Shri Syed Gulab has been serving free lunches to over 300 people for the last two years. People come from all over the country to admit family members at these hospitals. While the hospitals provide lunch to the patients, the poor people who accompany them are left to fend for themselves and live on the pavements outside the hospitals, unable to afford hotel accommodation.
Pained by this sight, Shri Syed Gulab started serving free food from 2015 onwards. He set up the Roti Charity Trust for carrying out this initiative. He took inspiration from Shri Azhar Maqsusi from Hyderabad who has been feeding destitute people every afternoon for the last six years.
Shri Syed Gulab has rented a small house, where he cooks the food and has now started serving breakfast of idli chutney. He has never sought donations but many people come forward with donations both in cash and kind. Shri Syed Gulab is a blessing in disguise to the poor people and it is because of him that people are able to get meals.
